Hello there, it's Cheryl from Puchong here! I'm so delighted to be part of this team and hope you will like what I'll be sharing in the future :) I have started scrapbooking since 2009 and my first project was a mini album, yeah, not a lay-out *wink*.

The main reason I love scrapbooking is because of papers, punches and stickers. Yup, I scrap because of the irresistable supplies and to spill my creativity onto a project. There are way too many inspirations around me that I would like to transform them into patterns and sketches on layouts! One of my inpiration source is Pinterest, if you have not tried Pinterest, you should :) To me, scrapbooking is a way to be creative and at the same time treasuring memories. I like layerings, fussy cuttings, ripped papers, bright colours, patterns and sometimes a bit of hand sewing too! Hope you will get some inspirations from my projects, thanks!

My name is Nadhrah and I'm a scrap addict and fabric lover. I love all thing's scrap and fabric related! I left my permanent job to scrap fulltime.

I’m based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and i'm a die hard fan of scrapbooking. I love the idea of preserving all my photos and turning them into scrapbooking art. It’s also a great stress reliever and seeing my finished works of art is truly something that satisfies me.

If you are looking for any specific scrapbooking style from me, i would say " I don't have any!!". I would consider mine as "beautiful mess"! Cluttering everything and organized them into one piece. By doing this, does give me the flexibility to work on my art, create new ideas and be creative as much as i can.

hello. i am shahrul niza. just recently i left my life as a professional geologist to pursue my love for creating art. i began scrapbooking in 2008 but i have enjoyed photography, card-making and patchwork long before that. scrapbooking inspires me to learn mixed - media art, sketching and watercolour painting. i realized that all these different art forms actually help me to be a better and happier scrapper.

i am single and living with three beautiful cats; Sir Paws, Fuji and Arthur. they are my loyal scrapbooking subjects, naturally. my inspiration comes from the littlest things in everyday life as well as the great work of my idols; Donna Downey, Kelly Rae Roberts and Beatrix Potter.

Interested in becoming part of our designing team? We are on the look for a new team consisting of at least 3 DTs for the next 6 months.

If you feel the need to inspire others, this could be an interesting opportunity share your ideas, techniques among others who are eager to learn.

Each DT will receive a kit every fortnightly to design either a scrapbook page, canvas, mini album, mixed media projects, etc. Each DT will be entitled to special discounts on their purchases, recommendations on new arrivals, etc.

You don't need to be exceptional, all you need to have is the love for the hobby and that you are willing to share your ideas with others.

Hi! My name is Yuzz Yusof, I have been scrapbooking for almost three years and I love doing anything creative but have found my niche with scrapping. Scrapbooking is definitely my patient and favourite way to channel my creative energy and it is very much therapeutic and also this is part of “me” time for me. Our lives are so colourful and I enjoy documenting through pictures and pages, doing altered arts and albums to cherish the fun and not-so-fun “moments” in our lives that we might otherwise forget years down the road. Nothing brings me greater joy than to see the faces I love most light up when they look at my work.

Hello there! I’m Marina and I’m from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. I’m a mom to my 10-month old boy Lucas and a wife to my hubby Paul. I’ve always loved creating beautiful things but I’ve only discovered my love for paper crafting this year when I left my ten-year career as a brand marketer to be a stay-at-home-mum. My boy inspired me to start scrapping so I can preserve his precious growing moments. It’s so amazing how scrapping can bring memories to life and really enhance the mood of the moment.

Next to scrapping layouts, I enjoy creating cards and gifts. Some of my favourite techniques are distressing, misting and layering. I love adding flowers, pearls and glitter for that shabby-glam touch. There are endless resources and motivations out there and we can draw inspirations and ideas from anyone and anything. I believe one’s creativity is only limited by the boundaries of one’s own imagination so we should constantly challenge ourselves.

I’m thrilled to be on Scrappingville’s team and I’ll be delighted to share my craft because life is beautiful and unique and memories are best preserved as an expression of art. A true bibliophile at heart and a shameless foodie, when I’m not busy crafting, you will find me immersed in a book or trying out new food with the hubs.

Book Making - Coptic Binding

Holding a well-made handbound book is a rare and rewarding experience, especially when you have made it yourself. In this course, learn how to produce a beginning level Coptic-bound book.

Coptic binding was developed in Egypt by the early Christians known as Copts and used from the 2nd through the 11th centuries. In this style of binding, the book sections are sewn through the fold and attached to each other with link stitches. The spine is exposed, creating a decorative element.

Students are guided through the book construction process from start to finish. They also explore various binding materials, such as handmade papers and creative cover choices.

This binding technique can be easily replicated at home.

Students will bring back 2 bound books.

I’m Nadhrah, full time crafter. My life is somewhat obsessed with scrapbooking. To me, everyday is a page waiting to be created and being immersed in paper, photos, embellishments and all things scrap related is my life and what makes me happiest. I’ve been scrapping for years now and i do owned a store in my area to provide scrapbook services for the people who loves my ideas. And my bigger dream was to be able to share this passion with other scrappers out there, in any way possible.

I’m so in love with scrapbooking that I always have to have the latest idea book and cracking my head out for inspiration and looking for new supplies with great new products...or thinking of great colour schemes and designs for my next project.

My family’s resigned to the fact that their daughter, wife and mother come in a package…and that scrapping is part of me….and what I will always love to do….my poor family has been endlessly photographed and used for my various layouts too......LOL!

In a nutshell, I do what I do for the love of the craft and the joy of sharing it to others!

A lesson to using the basic tools and techniques to getting a certain embossed look using Ten Seconds Studio products. Scrappingville's Art Retreat featuring

Julie lives in Perth, Western Australia and operates her business Collections Rubber Stamps creating stamps and paper products since 1997. Her business started in 1996 with a magazine publication, "The Rubber Gazette" and then was followed rubber stamp manufacturing. In about 2000, Julie started designing printed papers and die cuts and her line now extends to several hundred products. Many of her stamp designs are now manufactured under license in the USA with Stampington & Co.

During the past several years Julie has had the wonderful opportunity to travel the world teaching and inspiring her creative ideas with many wonderful artists and crafters. Her work has been published in "Somerset Studio" and "Stamp Art" by Sharilyn Miller.

When Julie is not working her interests include travel, computers, cooking and spending time with her twin daughters, Danielle and Lauren.

Kristy Harris is the founder and owner of Far Flung Craft, Asia ’s specialty scrapbook supply company and the author of the first and only book to specialize on Asian Scrapbooking, “Scrapbook, Asian Style!”. Kristy has lived and worked in Asia with her family for almost 12 years and spends her days working for a Fortune 500 company and her evenings crafting and scrapbooking pictures of her trips around the world.

Kristy’s classes are full of fun and exciting techniques, with simple and easy instructions all in a fast paced and crazy class. Be warned however, while you will come home with a cool project, laughter and funny stories are often common side effects of her classes.

Since I returned from Creative Escape, Singapore, so inspired with Donna Downey’s creations, now finding myself making everything with watercolours. Everything I see now are colours! Bright ones!

Want to make your very own apron? I've used very interesting bright, vibrant colours using something new we've just discovered, acrylic inks! We'll be splashing, dripping, watering down paints to the apron. May I also warn you that there will be some sewing involved. For those who are not much of a sewingperson, don't worry its only very simple sewing is involved. A little foam stamping, making your own fabric flowers, are also part of it all.

Here are her instructions.

Techniques used for the cards:

Cut rectangluar pieces of white cardstock with dimensions of 2.5" x 3.5"; total of 6 pieces were used.
Then select your favorite stamps (which just happens to be all of them); I inked the stamp with versa mark and sprinkle clear embossing powder from American Crafts to create the images.
After applying the embossing powder, I used the heat gun to seal the images and then with baby wipes applied the distressed inks over the images. I used Tim Holtz distress ink - Brushed Corduroy & Frayed Burlap colors.
Then after allowing the ink to dry abit, I sprayed Tattered Angels Iridescent gold mist over the cards to give it that shimmer metalic look.

Hello Everyone! My name is Leena and I'm currently residing in Singapore. I was born and bred in Malaysia and has since settled down after I got hitched to my best friend and hubby Rainer of 10years. I'm also a full-time working mum to my adorable and handful 6 year old boy Ethan, whom I would constantly miss when I'm traveling for work. My life took a turn for the better when I found my calling in scrapbooking 3 years ago. It's been a great journey for me, being able to record those treasured moments of my life with my loved ones through scrapbooking. I'm also an avid photographer, always keeping my camera within reach so that I could capture images worthy of a lifetime.

This canvas project came about when I was looking for something which I can look at everyday and reminds me how lucky I am being surrounded by the people I love most and who loves me. So, this wood-mounted canvas is the perfect display piece that I'd love to share with you, which i believe will be something worth remembering for you too. This project will incorporate wonderful products and techniques using paints, inks, mists with loads of yummy goodies from Prima and Hambly, both my favorite brands. All these products add together will create a sentimental touch to the canvas. And I would also assure you that you will get your hands dirty and have lots of fun at the same time! I look forward to meeting all of you and share our love for creativity!

Kristy Harris and Sharon Chan of Far Flung Craft is coming to teach @ Scrappingville.

It will be a fabric affair, a fabric mini book class, a canvas class too!

I can only reveal this little information with you at the moment but please let us know if you interested by just commenting on this post so we can make sure we have enough kits for everyone.

Just in case you thought Kristy Harris sounds familiar, she also wrote Scrapbook Asian Style, and she will be more than happy to autograph your book for you on the day.

Class dates are 24 September 2009 and 25 September 2009.

Morning and afternoon sessions are available.
